The American Legion’s January issue stated that Group 8 Veterans were eliminated from enrollment in the Veteran Administration’s Health Benefit Program in 2003. Senator Daniel Akaka of Hawaii, the chairman of The Committee on Veterans Affairs has taken steps in committee to reverse that, and it passed. Middle income veterans who were dropped can now look towards re-eligibility.
